A Lifetime of Construction Experience

I’m Chris Corey, the owner of Corey-Built and I’ve been building & remodeling residential homes since 1981. Here’s a little bit about my background and the experience you’ll receive when having us improve your home.
As a young person I worked summers in the family roofing & siding business on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. After graduating from Cape Cod technical high school in 1981, I began work as a carpenters apprentice. This is where my love of historic homes began. We worked on homes built as early as the 1600’s, learning techniques that I would say have been lost to time (not many people know how to lead flash wood gutters for example).
After the devastation of Hurricane Hugo in 1989, I took my crew to Charleston to provide relief work and rebuild the historic homes of Mount Pleasant, Kiawah and on the battery in Charleston itself. What was planned to be six month turned into three years.
In 1992 we came to Bucks County on a vacation visiting family in Buckingham and just loved the area. A job offer moved us to the area and again began working on the historic homes of the area. Soon after purchasing our own historic property, I became a supervisor, then a project manager for a custom home builder on the main line of Philadelphia. Building homes in excess of 10,000sf was the norm, with several homes featured in architectural magazines.
In 2003, I left that company to become Senior Project Manager of a company building a 30,000sf home in Gladwyne, PA. A massive undertaking averaging over 125 persons on site per day. During that time I worked with and assisting the secret service during a visit to the home from President George W. Bush, the 43rd President of The United States in 2005.
Shortly after the completion of this large home, I started Corey-Built. We managed and built several large projects in the years that followed. Some new builds, however the enjoyment of working on historic properties never waned.
Over the years I’ve been a master carpenter, cabinet maker, roofer, sider, drywaller, painter, interior and exterior designer, architect, supervisor, project manager, 3D model designer, and just about anything else related to home construction.
Today, my company takes on projects that I find enjoyable and challenging. Having experienced some 300,000sf of construction over the past 40 years, there isn’t much I haven’t seen. Let’s put that experience to work on your project.
